JOLIET — Ronald Lee Hunter, a 58-year-old Joliet resident, was booked into the Will County Jail over the weekend on several criminal charges: violation of a no contact order, obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, two counts of criminal damage to property and one count of obstruction of justice.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the following events led to Hunter’s capture by the Joliet police force on Friday night:

At 8:15 p.m., the officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Demmond Street for a violation of an order of protection. Hunter was listed as a respondent on an order of protection for the Demmond Street address and a female resident, but the order had yet to be served.

Later the same evening, at 10:14 p.m., English said the officers were called back to the residence on Demmond Street after it was reported that Hunter tried to forcefully enter the rear of the residence.

The officers determined that Hunter had already fled the area, but had damaged a sliding door and a window screen. Shortly after midnight, the officers located Hunter standing outside the Demmond Street address.
