Police, New Hampshire State Troopers Investigate Stolen Car Crash In East Concord: Watch
CONCORD, NH — Police and state police spent several hours investigating a stolen car out of Hampton that crashed in East Concord and trying to capture the suspects on Monday afternoon.
Around 3:45 p.m., Concord police were called to a report of a car that had crashed into a ditch on Appleton Street near Turtle Pond. A witness reported no one in the car, but they saw several young men fleeing the scene into the woods, heading east toward Loudon Road, and presumed they were involved with the crash.
The vehicle was a silver Toyota Camry with Massachusetts plates. Dispatch confirmed it was stolen out of Hampton. The officer requested a K-9 unit to be brought to the scene.

A description was given of a few of the men: One was a thin, tall white man, another was a Black man who was thin with dreadlocks, one was Hispanic man, one man was wearing a “weird” purple pointed hat, and another man was carrying a Hello Kitty backpack. Some were wearing red shirts. The witnesses stated there were at least five, possibly six, men who were all young, in their late teens. The witness said the men appeared to be heading to the Broken Ground Trail area along the path with the electrical towers.
Officers searched Broken Ground Elementary School, Curtisville Road, East Side Drive, and Batchelder Mill Road for the men.
At the crash scene, an officer reported a handgun was inside the car, according to scanner chatter. A search warrant was requested for the vehicle, and a contract tow truck was lined up to take it to headquarters at around 4:15 p.m.
One of the possible suspects was also identified as a Loudon resident, and an officer was sent to the town line with Concord to see if there was anything out of the ordinary. Another officer also requested someone call the reporting agency to see if they had any possible suspects. It was revealed the woman reportedly left her keys in the car while it was in Hampton.
Police also identified a potential suspect.
Around 4:30 p.m., a taxicab was seen on the dirt road section of Curtisville Road. The driver told an officer he was requested to pick up six teenagers on the trail and take them to Prospect Street.
A second suspect was also identified.
The Eastman Early Learning Center on Shawmut Street, not far from the Batchelder Mill Road trail, was temporarily placed on lockdown during the search. An officer was sent to assist parents in picking up their children.
Two suspects were taken into custody by police.

At Curtisville Road, a witness reported seeing men walking in a wooded area. The state police K-9 unit was also deployed along the trails to find the suspects. According to scanner chatter, the officers reported hearing people in the woods and issued verbal warnings to the suspects while trying to find them.
Around 5:30 p.m., witnesses began calling police about several young men, some not wearing shirts, running across Interstate 393, just past Exit 2, on the eastbound side of the highway. One said there were four men — one white and three Black, one with poofy hair.
Police and state troopers headed to the area, but the men were able to escape into the woods near Salisbury Green. Officers and troopers then began searching East Side Drive, Northeast Village Road, and Woodcrest Heights Drive for the suspects.
Another investigator learned later that one of the suspects attempted to hide a gun in the area of Curtisville Road. A second magazine, not the same caliber as the first gun, was also found in the car.
Another officer identified the other four suspects.
Around 6 p.m., the four suspects were detained after officers began chasing them along East Side Drive and Eastern Avenue.
According to scanner chatter, Concord police were searching several locations in East Concord at post time for evidence, including backpacks and other items.
