DEERFIELD, IL — When deciding to open a second location for his business, Preston Reiff believes he found the perfect spot. The 32-year-old is the owner and operator of Venture X Chicago, which specializes in flexible workspaces, with the first location being a success in Oak Brook.
“We believe Deerfield has the right mix of commercial buildings along with great residential that fits our demographics,” Reiff recently told Patch about the new location at 570 Lake Cook Road. “With a lot of the corporate downsizing going on in Deerfield, we wanted to be able to capture some of that business, and at the same time, cater to its individuals and small businesses.”
Venture X Chicago-Deerfield occupies 19,000-square-feet and boasts 69 private offices and three meeting rooms, including a conference room that seats up to 30. Reiff said the space offers virtual offices, community memberships, day offices, and an array of amenities.

Reiff said the Deerfield location is “great” due to its close proximity to the Metra station, direct access via a walking path, and it’s also within 5 to 10 minutes of major highway systems both east and west.
“We loved the floorplan and how our space pops right when the elevator doors open to the third floor,” Reiff said.

According to Reiff, business is still “ramping up,” but there have plenty of inquiries into the space and Venture X Chicago-Deerfield has been hosting conferences, meetings and events. The business is also running promotions through the summer on private offices.
“We’re a one-of-a-kind facility in the area in both product and service,” Reiff said. “We’re high end and high touch and love the hospitality side of the operation. We have a beautiful space that excites people and teams every day to walk into, and we have community managers to make everyone feel at home.”

With the Oak Brook location, Reiff says he’s learned a lot about what makes this type of business work, even setting a goal to have 10 operating in the next five years.
“Just knowing that when the community comes together, people and teams truly fall in love with the space,” Reiff said. “If folks are looking for a high value space, we execute and deliver on everything we promise.”
Reiff said his business uses an all-inclusive model where there is no “nickle and diming” around things like printing and coffee. Snacks, refreshments, happy hours and other things occur throughout each week.
Reiff notes there has been a growing demand for what Venture X Chicago offers in recent years. While he admits the pandemic may have accelerated the demand for these spaces, he believes because of the way modern work places are evolving, change was inevitable.
“Historically, if you’re looking at non-conventional office space, you’d be looking at a dark and dated option. We’re here to continue to change that,” Reiff said. “Whether a company is downsizing, an individual needs to get out of the house, remote employees need a nice place to work together, or someone is starting a new business, we can capture and provide a solution to all of the unique scenarios stemming from the pandemic.”
