Serena Williams was tense and excited before facing Roger Federer – Coach

and faced each other for the first time in a mixed doubles match at the Hopman Cup in Perth last week. The American was very emotional, and she took a selfie with the Swiss after the match.

In a chat to Tennis World USA, Serenas coach revealed the 37-year-olds feelings before the match. She was at the same time tense and excited. Tense because she did not know what to expect.

It was very special and she wanted to do well. Excited because she realized how unique that moment would be and she was prepared also to embrace and enjoy it as much as possible, said Mouratoglou. About Serenas 2019 schedule, Mouratoglou added: In 2019, the schedule will remain light as last year.

She will be focusing on the Grand Slams and play the main events in between to get some matches and stay competitive. You will see her in Indian Wells, and Miami. Serena skipped both Madrid and Rome last year in order to get as fit as possible prior to the French Open, where she withdrew from the fourth round match against Maria Sharapova.
