Trump’s hectic European schedule includes breakfast with Theresa May

President Trump will wrap up the whirlwind first day of his state visit to the UK Monday evening with a lavish state dinner with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace — a moment of peace ahead of a potentially turbulent Tuesday.

Tuesday morning, Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May co-host a breakfast business meeting and then meet at Downing Street for talks on trade, defense and other issues important to the alliance, including the UK’s messy divorce from the EU, which the president has largely blamed on May.

Later Tuesday, Trump and the first lady will host a dinner party at Winfield House, the US ambassador’s residence, that Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, will attend.

Major protests are expected Tuesday in London, with potentially hundreds of thousands of demonstrators taking to the streets to protest Trump and his visit.

The “Baby Trump” blimp was also expected to make a return appearance.

On Wednesday, the Trumps, joined by the queen and other royals, will attend the National Commemorative Event for the 75th anniversary of D-Day in Portsmouth, a departure port for the attack, along with 300 D-Day veterans.

Trump will then fly to Ireland, where he’ll have a quick meeting at Shannon airport with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar before heading to his golf resort in Doonbeg, County Clare.

Trump will conclude his Europe trip on Thursday when he heads to France to honor the landing of Allied forces in Normandy for the 75th anniversary of D-Day, and will later meet with French President Emmanuel Macron before returning to the US.
