A dog got loose on subway tracks after running from its owner on a platform in Midtown Thursday evening, stalling trains as workers tried to rescue the pup, the MTA said.
The 8-month-old cocker spaniel, Marley, fled into the tunnel between the Herald Square N/Q station and the 42nd Street station at about 5:40 p.m., the agency said in a tweet.
Marley’s owner, Paula Boodoosingh, said the pup slipped out of his harness while she was waiting for her daughter on the platform at the station.
“He just got away — very quick. The longer he’s missing the more worried I get,” she said.

Northbound N and Q trains were first held at 34th Street because of the dog, but were allowed to proceed at lower speeds at about 6:30 p.m. as workers continued to look for him.
Marley was still missing late Thursday night, the MTA and Boodoosingh said.
