Update On Paige Not Returning to WWE TV This Week

As we noted earlier this week, speculation was that WWE star Paige, who returned to the road with WWE this week and was backstage at Raw in Atlanta, might be making her return to TV on Monday night. Additionally, it was speculated that the former Women’s Champion would be revealed as the fifth member of Team Raw at Survivor Series. This did not happen, however, as the spot was given to Bayley.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, sources indicated to him that Paige was never scheduled to return to WWE TV this week and that her return was originally scheduled for next week. It remains to be seen on which brand Paige will return, but she was backstage at Raw this week, meaning a return on the Red brand could be possible.

We did note earlier today that WWE is teasing the fifth member of Team Smackdown might not be revealed until Sunday night before or at the PPV, and the likely candidates for the final slot are Natalya, who just lost her title to Charlotte, or a returning Paige.

James Ellsworth Comments Further On Release

As noted, WWE Smackdown Live star James Ellsworth was released from WWE today, and he issued a comment on Twitter shortly after the news broke. Ellsworth has since posted the following comments on Facebook and Twitter:
