Retirement is not treating Darren McFadden well.
The former NFL running back was was found asleep at the wheel of his SUV at a Whataburger drive-thru early Monday morning in Texas and arrested for drunk driving, according to TMZ Sports.
The former Raider and Cowboy also was charged with resisting arrest, though he has since been released on bond. According to the report, his windows were smashed in the incident.
The No. 4-overall pick by the Raiders in 2008, McFadden spent 10 seasons in the NFL, rushing for 5,421 yards and 28 touchdowns. He last played in 2017 before being released by the Cowboys.
McFadden was recently announced as part of the 2019 class to be inducted into the National Football Foundation’s College Football Hall of Fame, following a standout career at Arkansas.
