4 Killed In Shooting At 1-Year-Old's Birthday Party; 2 At-Large

TAFT, TX – Four men were killed when a fight broke out at a 1-year-old’s birthday party in Taft, about 10 miles north of Corpus Christi. Gunshots rang out around 5:15 p.m. at a residence on the 500 block of Wilburn Street, Sgt. Nathan Brandley of the state Department of Public Safety told reporters.

It appears a fight broke out during the party between two separate families, Brandley said.

Four men were killed and a fifth was airlifted to a hospital in Corpus Christi. The names of the victims and the two suspects weren’t immediately known. Thesuspects remain on the loose.

The condition of the fifth man wasn’t immediately known.

Texas Rangers are leading the investigation, which remains ongoing.
