2nd Burr Ridge Doubter Wrong On Restaurant
BURR RIDGE, IL – Six months ago, a resident came forward on social media to doubt that a Burr Ridge restaurant would survive another six months.
He was wrong – it’s still in business.
The restaurant in question is Pella Signature, 720 Village Center Drive.

It opened a year ago Thursday – Aug. 29, 2023.
When Patch wrote a story in advance of Pella’s opening, a reader commented in response that Pella would last no longer than six months.

Patch promised the anonymous commenter that it would check in after six months to see whether the restaurant was still open.
On Feb. 29, Patch wrote a story about the restaurant’s six-month milestone. In response, yet another reader commented, “I would be shocked if this restaurant lasted another six months.”
Yet Pella continues to post on its Facebook page about happenings at its restaurant. Last week, photos appeared on the page about an area insurance agency’s training at Pella.
On Aug. 20, the restaurant posted a photo of its staff.
“Here is the crew that brings your dining experience to life!” Pella said in the post. “From crafting your favorite dishes to ensuring every detail is just right, our team is dedicated to serving you the best.”
Pella is not the only restaurant that Patch has tracked in response to readers’ dire predictions.
Patch followed the same procedure last year when a commenter said a new Elmhurst restaurant, Krafted Burger Bar + Tap, would be gone no later than six months. The reader later deleted the comment.
Krafted has now been around for more than a year and a half, proving the reader wrong.
Before opening, Pella was advertised to be Burr Ridge’s largest restaurant. On its website, Pella describes itself as a place “where culinary artistry meets Mediterranean mastery.”
