JOLIET — Just three days after Joliet police say William Nobles, 36, stole more than $80 worth of laundry detergent and used his bicycle to escape the Walgreens on East Cass Street, Nobles committed another shoplifting crime, this time at the Walmart on the west side, Joliet police announced.
And this time around, Nobles had a partner in crime, 39-year-old Tavarus Dean of Joliet, the arrest reports show. Joliet police arrested both of them, but Dean was released on a notice to appear in court. Nobles, instead, wound up in the Will County Jail because he had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest, from Will County, as well as Kankakee County.
The arrest of Dean and Nobles happened Friday evening. According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the following events happened at the Walmart at 2424 Jefferson

At 7:43 p.m., the officers responded to Walmart for a retail theft. Upon arrival, the officers learned that Dean and Nobles entered the store and concealed more than $400 worth of merchandise into a bin and attempted to exit the store without paying for the items in the bin.
A store employee confronted them and took the bin of merchandise from them. Officers located Dean and Nobles near West Jefferson Street and Joyce Street, and both were placed into custody without incident. It was determined Nobles held a Will County and Kankakee County warrant for failing to appear in court on prior theft charges.
